EGYPTIAN AMBASSADOR VISITS KHIRDALAN CITY OF AZERBAIJAN
Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Baku Yousif Ahmad al-Sharkavini visited Wednesday the Khirdalan city of Azerbaijan.
Warmly welcoming the guest, deputy chief of the Executive Power of the Absheron Region Mirza Aslanov said the bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Egypt have marked a new era of development after President Ilham Aliyev’s visit to Egypt on 6-7 May of the current year. He also said that during this visit, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Executive Power of Absheron Region and Egypt’s Galyubiyya province. This document intends the development of cooperation in the fields of agriculture, industry, irrigation, local development, culture, charity and etc. and conducting exchange of experience in these fields.
According to the memorandum, a delegation led by chief of Executive Power of Absheron Region Zakir Farajov visited Egypt on July 4-8 to meet the leadership of the Galyubiyya province. The sides have held discussions related to the mutual relations.
The ambassador, in his turn, said his country is keen to develop the bilateral ties with Azerbaijan in all spheres. He also said that establishment and expansion of cooperation between the regions of the two countries will promote bilateral relations.
