EU Commissioner delivers lecture at Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy
Baku, May 3 (AZERTAC). European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Stefan Fule today has given a lecture at the Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy (ADA).
ADA`s students and academic staff, foreign diplomats working in Azerbaijan and journalists were present at the event.
Talking about EU-Azerbaijan relationship, Fule said the organization considers Azerbaijan “a reliable partner” in many areas, particularly in fight against terror, energy, and education.
The Commissioner said for Europe Azerbaijan plays a key role due to its geopolitical position, rich human and energy resources, as well as investment potential.
Fule reaffirmed EU´s commitment to strengthening the partnership with Azerbaijan based on mutual respect, interests and values.
The Commissioner stated that EU attached great significance to Eastern Partnership Program, adding EU today was one of organizations making huge investments in global economy.
Touching upon disputed questions in Eastern Partnership Program`s member countries, Fule said those problems create obstacles for development. The EU official stressed the importance of finding a peaceful solution to those problems.
On educational cooperation between EU and Azerbaijan, the Commissioner said he believes more students from EU countries would be attracted to programs implemented in Azerbaijan.
