EUROPE SENDS PEACE MISSION TO KOSOVO
Head of the states and leaders of the governments of the European Union have decided to send peace mission to Kosovo. Besides, the European Union has created a group of 10 people for consideration of the future European Union under presidency of former Spanish Prime Minister Felipe Gonzalez.
As is reported, the leaders of the European Union managed to reach the consent concerning peace mission in the Serbian rebellious province.
The Security Council will gather in this occasion on Wednesday, but mission will start action even if the Security Council will not come to the consent.
According to the European leaders, the mission will mobilize 1.800 soldiers, policemen and lawyers, however, it is not known, when it will start acting.
As was stated by the Prime Minister of Belgium, Guy Verhovstadt, "in the past, the Americans were obliged to interfere with Kosovo as the European leaders could not come to the agreement. Today, they, at last, reached a consent".
As to the new group comprising 10 people, it should begin discussions concerning the European borders and admission of Turkey to the European Union. The initiator of group is the French President Nicolas Sarkozy, who is against admission of Turkey to the European Union.
The group will be engaged in such themes as power, environment and safety.
