European Parliament`s members visit Azerbaijan
Baku, May 19 (AZERTAC). Members of the European Parliament from Slovakia Boris Zala and Katarina Nevedalova visited Baku on May 17-18. The visit was organanized by the European Azerbaijan Society.
The European Parliament`s members paid tributes to Azerbaijan`s national leader Heydar Aliyev and martyrs.
As part of the visit the MEPs met deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, chairman of the State Committe for Refugees and IDPs Ali Hasanov, deputy foreign minister Mahmud Mammad-Guliyev, deputy economic development minister Sevinj Hasanova, vice-speaker of parliament Valeh Alasgarov, parliamentarians Elton Mammadov, Samad Seyidov, Asim Mollazade, Vuqar Mammadov and Mukhtar Babayev.
The discussions at the meetings focused on cooperation between European Parliament and Azerbaijan.
Katarina Nevedalova visited one of the hostels in Baku`s Binagadi district, which temporarily housed IDPs expelled from their native lands as a result of the Armenian aggression.
She also became familiar with the activity of the European Azerbaijan School.
Nevedalova also visited Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy.
