EUROPEAN UNION CONDEMNED “PRESIDENTIAL” ELECTIONS IN NAGORNO-KARABAKH, SEMNEBY
The European Union has issued a statement condemning the so-called “presidential” elections in Nagorno-Karabakh, the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus Peter Semneby said during a press conference at the ISR-plaza hotel in Baku Saturday.
Commenting on the results of his visit, Semneby said he has met with Azerbaijan`s governmental officials to discuss basic principles of the European Neighborhood Policy Action Plan.
The EU Special Representative said during his talks in Baku, he also discussed political issues, including the strengthening of democratic institutions and media situation in the country.
On Azerbaijan`s Nagorno-Karabakh conflict with Armenia, Peter Semneby said that the European Union is interested in the settlement of the dispute, and that he supports the peace talks brokered by the OSCE Minsk Group.
