European Union is Azerbaijan's largest trading partner, says EU High Representative

European Union is Azerbaijan's largest trading partner, said Kaja Kallas, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, during a joint press conference with Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov.
High Representative Kaja Kallas mentioned that the EU is also contributing to the demining efforts in Azerbaijan, adding that it will continue its efforts to eliminate the consequences of the conflict in the country.
"We are planning to further enhance our trade relations with Azerbaijan based on a new agreement," Kaja Kallas underscored.
Noting that they also held very fruitful discussions regarding the normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia during the meeting, the EU High Representative stated: "As the European Union, we express our support for the efforts to strengthen relations between the two countries and ensure a lasting and sustainable peace agreement. I welcome the agreement on the text of the peace treaty, looking forward to further productive steps.”
