Exhibition “Polish traces in Azerbaijan” opens in Lodz

The exhibition “Polish traces in Azerbaijan” opened in Lodz city of Poland, on December 3, within the framework of the “Day of Azerbaijan”.
Teachers and students staff of Lodz universities attended the event.
Dean and professor of the faculty Professor Tomasz Domański spoke of the Azerbaijan-Poland relations.
Azerbaijani Ambassador to Poland Hasan Hasanov spoke on the past and the present of Azerbaijan, informed about the history, literature, culture, and latest achievements the country reached. He noted that, the diplomatic relations with 540 years of history between Azerbaijan and Poland are developing as a result of efforts by the presidents of the two countries Ilham Aliyev and Bronislaw Komorowski.
The ambassador answered the questions of the students and teachers. A promotional film about Azerbaijan was demonstrated and “The Polish traces in Azerbaijan” was presented.
In his opening remarks, Ambassador Hasanov noted the important role of the Poles once they played in development of many areas in Azerbaijan. The buildings in Baku designed on the basis of the East and West architecture buildings by Polish architects, are in the city's list of architectural masterpieces.
An exhibition of photos of the buildings built by Poles in Azerbaijan has attracted the attention of the participants.
Following the event, a reception on Azerbaijani national dishes has been arranged.
