First advanced technology park - Moldova HiTech Park - to be built in Stăuceni

Moldova HiTech Park will be built in Stăuceni, Chișinău municipality, making it the first advanced technology park in our country and a nationally important economic platform, according to Moldpres.
About 200 million euros will be invested in its development. Authorities estimate that the new technology park will create over 21,600 new jobs and generate economic revenue of over 1.28 billion euros in its first two decades of operation.
The new park aims to become the main center for innovation, technology, and education in the Republic of Moldova and will be located on a 50-hectare site near the National Arena. It is designed as ecosystem that connects education, science, research, entrepreneurship and leading industries, being envisioned as a smart city with modern offices, laboratories, university campuses and conference centers.
The project was presented today by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization Doina Nistor.
"The government is developing an economic and technological platform of national importance in Stăuceni. Moldova HiTech Park is the first advanced technology park in our country, of strategic national importance, based on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and data processing. It is a good local investment that contributes to job creation, especially for young people, to a university education based on skills gained from practice, the place where our entrepreneurs will grow and develop, and of course, the economy," said Doina Nistor.
The park will be carried out over the next five years, with EU support, as part of the Growth Plan, as well as contribution from the private sector and development partners.
"Moldova HiTech Park is thought of as ecosystem connecting education, science, research, entrepreneurship and leading industries. The park will be developed on a 50-hectare area in Stăuceni, within Chișinău perimeter, and near two major universities: the Technical University of Moldova and "Nicolae Testemițanu" State University of Medicine and Pharmacy. We are talking about a smart city, with modern offices, laboratories, university campuses, and conference centers - all designed to stimulate innovation and collaboration. Thus, it is a project that turns innovation from an abstract concept into a tangible economic engine," pointed out Doina Nistor.
With this investment from the Government and the European Union, over 21,600 well-paid jobs will be created in the first year of the park's full functionality in fields such as IT, engineering, services and medical research, microelectronics, creative industries, and others with high added value. At the same time, a net economic income of over 1.28 billion euros is estimated for the first two decades.
The project sees the formation of over 15,000 specialists in the next 10 years, through partnerships with the Technical University of Moldova, Nicolae Testemițanu University, and national and international universities. Direct investments estimated amount to 200 million euros, money that will stay in the country and work for Moldova's economy.
HiTech Park will benefit from a special legal regime.
