FM MINI FOOTBALL TEAM WIN DIPLOMAT CUP
A mini-football team of the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan has won the competition among diplomatic missions accredited in Azerbaijan by gaining 4-0 victory over Russian embassy. Players from the Embassy of Kazakhstan ranked third in the tournament.
Started on May 7, it brought together teams representing embassies of Germany, USA, Turkey, Iran and Ukraine, as well as those of offices of the United Nations and the International Committee of the Red Cross in Azerbaijan.
US diplomat Brian Randall was declared the best player of the tournament, Ambassador of Kazakhstan Andar Shukputov the best halfback, Russian diplomat Yuri Klimov the best forward, and employees of the Azerbaijan Foreign Affairs Ministry Atash Gyrkhiyev and Emin Gurashly the best full-back and goalkeeper respectively.
Another Foreign Ministry employee Rovshan Samadov was announced the best striker with 15 goals scored.
