Former Greek Prime Minister: Technologies should serve humanity

"These technologies are crucial for education and climate change. We must consider how artificial intelligence can be utilized for democracy because technologies should serve humanity," said former Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou during the panel session titled "New Technologies for New World" at the 12th Global Baku Forum.
Papandreou emphasized that society should have control over AI, noting that currently, certain circles dominate its management. He expressed concern that technology is more often used for developing weapons of mass destruction rather than addressing global challenges like education and climate change. He warned that artificial intelligence is increasingly falling under the control of major powers such as the United States and China, making regulation and ethical oversight essential.
