GERMAN AMBASSADOR VISITS REGIONS OF AZERBAIJAN
Ambassador of Germany to Azerbaijan Per Stanchina visited the Shamkir and Khanlar regions of republic. In Shamkir region, the Ambassador familiarized with the archeological diggings leading to the Garajemirli village carried out by financial assistance of Germany.
Head of the international expedition, professor Ilyas Babayev informed on the work carried out, noting that scholars of three countries - Azerbaijan, Georgia and Germany carry out the archeological researches. He expressed gratitude to German government for financing the researches concerning the V-VI centuries BC.

Then, the Ambassador viewed the unique samples of findings.
Visiting Khanlar region, the Ambassador met with local authorities, interested in economic life of region. The guest then visited the German church locating in the territory of Kahnlar region which long years was named as Elendorf and in 1819 was the compact residence for Germans. Here, as stated, the restoration works are carried out with assistance of the German Technical Society.
