GOVERNOR BOB HOLDEN: “AZERBAIJAN ACHIEVEMENTS IN THE PARLIAMENTARY ELECTIONS VERY HIGH”
“We are pleased with the level of professionalism of the election officials and solidarity and friendly mood of the observers who watched the election process. We encountered very few little complaints.
Though we could not observe the elections in all territory of country, but all that we saw gives reason to confirm that this is fair elections and the people of Azerbaijan is decisive in its choice. We were deeply impressed especially by support of everybody for the democratic principles, their participation at elections. We believe these elections will create good bases for future of Azerbaijan.
Some observers said Azerbaijan has only 15 years experience in democratic state building process. And the United States has been for over 200 years that marches along path of democracy. From this point of view, Azerbaijan’s achievements are high. The electors have studied fair and transparent elections quickly. In this sense, the Americans may learn of your citizens. We felt pride of the active participation of the Azerbaijanis in the elections. We welcome every voter and greet them who took responsibility before his country.”
