Half a million people have received an NHS dementia diagnosis

A record 506,549 people have now received a dementia diagnosis on the NHS, marking a significant increase from the previous year, according to the Independent.
NHS hospitals are increasingly deploying technology, such as the MinderCare at-home monitoring service, to support individuals living with dementia.
MinderCare uses sensors to track daily routines, medication response, and early signs of infection, aiming to reduce unnecessary hospital admissions.
Family members have reported that these new devices provide peace of mind, allowing for early detection of deterioration and adjustment of care plans.
NHS England and Alzheimer’s Society officials stress the importance of early diagnosis for accessing crucial care and support, encouraging those with symptoms to consult their GP.
