IMF READY TO RENDER TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO AZERBAIJAN IN TAX POLICY FIELD

International Monetary Fund stands ready to render technical assistance to Azerbaijan in the field of tax policy, Vitaly Kramarenko, the head of IMF mission, deputy director of IMF Department on the countries of the Near East and Central Asia, said.

The IMF official said Azerbaijan Tax Ministry has appealed the Fund on rendering such assistance. At his words, the issue will be considered at IMF and made appropriate decision, on which the Azerbaijani side will be made aware of.

Mr. Kramarenko stated that the IMF mission has recommended the Tax Ministry to reduce number of the foods free of VAT.

Speaking of situation in the securities market in Azerbaijan, IMF representative stressed necessity of developing this market. According to him, the Ministry of Finance and National Bank should increase volume of securities and take care of its development in the country.
