INTERNATIONAL CASPIAN OIL AND GAS CONFERENCE WRAPS UP IN BAKU

Baku, 5 June (AZERTAC). The 16th International Caspian oil and gas conference ended here on Thursday.

The second day of the conference was devoted to the subject of “Diversifying European Energy Supply”.

The participants heard reports on “The role of the Caspian region in ensuring Europe`s energy security”, “Prospects for exploration and production in the Caspian region”, “Making investment in Azerbaijan`s Oil And Gas Sector”.

Speakers at the event included the first vice-president of SOCAR Khoshbakht Yusifzade, managing director of Nabucco Gas Pipeline international Reinhard Mitschek, ITGI Project Leader Elio Ruggeri, commissioner of “StatoilHydro Azerbaijan” Company Sveinung Dankel, Managing Director of Trans Adriatic Pipeline Project Robert Klein, Senior Vice President of E.ON Ruhrgas AG Uwe Fip, Vice-president of SOCAR`s investment and marketing department Elshad Nasirov.

It was stressed Azerbaijan had become a leading oil producer and exporter, and that the country makes huge contribution to ensuring Europe`s energy security.

The meeting focused on the role of the Caspian region in energy security, prospects for exploration and production in the Caspian, investments in Azerbaijan`s oil and gas sector, exploitation and transportation of Caspian resources and regional energy and infrastructure projects.
