INTERNATIONAL CHEMISTRY OLYMPIAD AT BAKU STATE UNIVERSITY
An International Chemistry Olympiad has started today at Baku State University / BSU/ on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of Moscow State University / MSU/ named after M.V. Lomonosov. Large delegations of professors, teachers and students from the leading Universities of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and other countries arrived in the capital of Azerbaijan to participate in the event. Addressing the attendees, Rector of the BSU, corresponding member of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences Abel Maharramov pointed out the invaluable role of national leader of the Azerbaijani people, outstanding political figure Heydar Aliyev in strengthening of relations between Russia and Azerbaijan in all spheres, including since and education, and stressed this course is now being successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev. Touching upon BSU-MSU relationship, he noted that the Moscow State University had played a great role in formation and development of science and education in Azerbaijan.
The Olympiad winners would be announced on October 29.
