INTERNATIONAL HERALD TRIBUNE WRITES ABOUT AZERBAIJAN`S SUPPORTING NABUCCO PIPELINE

The world famous International Herald Tribune newspaper has published an article about Azerbaijan`s supporting the Nabucco pipeline project.

Authors of the article titled “Russian PM revives idea of new gas line via Belarus to Europe; Azerbaijan supports Nabucco” cited Azerbaijan`s Minister of Energy and Industry Natig Aliyev as saying that his country is now holding talks on the EU-backed Nabucco pipeline project to export the Caspian gas to Europe.

During the Azerbaijan-Germany energy forum in Baku, Aliyev said Azerbaijan hopes to export 30 billion to 50 billion cubic meters of gas in future, but that this requires appropriate infrastructure and new pipelines.

The article touched upon Russian Prime Minister Viktor Zubkov`s offer to construct second pipeline to carry Russian gas to European Union via Belarus.
