INT`L FESTIVAL OF YOUNG VOCALISTS OPENED IN ST. PETERSBURG
The 6th International festival of young opera talents opened August 18 in the State Philharmonic Society of St. Petersburg at organizational support of People`s Artist of the USSR Elena Obraztsova, General consulate of Azerbaijan in St.-Petersburg said.
The congratulatory letter addressed by the President of Azerbaijan to organizers and participants of the festival was read at the opening ceremony.
As stated, 160 singers take part in the event from 22 countries.
Young vocalist Dinara Aliyeva represents Azerbaijan at the festival. Juries comprising popular opera stars from 12 countries will define the winners.
Azerbaijan`s Ministry of Culture and Tourism has instituted 3 prizes for participants of the festival, to be presented to the winners by Azerbaijan`s consul-general.
