The Italian women's team qualified for an Olympic volleyball final for the first time by beating Turkey in the semi Thursday night, according to ANSA.

The Azzurre prevailed by 25-22, 25-19, 25-22 and will face the USA in Sunday's final.

Coach Julio Velasco said: "To win the semifinal 3-0 by coming back in every set (shows) a lot of character. Now we have a dream. There is a small problem: there is the opponent that can make you play badly, we must be cool and play without fear".

He added: "We must be more lucid than today (in the final), we cannot afford mistakes with the United States."
