JAPAN, AZERBAIJAN SIGNED GRANT CONTRACTS
Ceremony of signing of the grant contracts in the frame of program «Roots of grasses and safety of the person» was held at the embassy of Japan in Baku. Ministers of health and education of Azerbaijan Ogtay Shiraliyev and Misir Mardanov took part at the event.
Ambassador Tadahiro Abe informed, that term of its diplomatic mission is completed, and it is his last ceremony of signing in Azerbaijan. The grant program «Roots of grasses and safety of the person» is being realized since 2000 and directed on improvement of conditions of the life of Azerbaijani people. In total, it has been realized for this time 99 projects on development of infrastructure, agriculture, social sphere, culture with total cost of 729,86 million dollars.
Last three grants in the total cost 224,445 US dollars were allocated by the government of Japan for reconstruction of children’s polyclinic in Ismayilli region, construction of school in village Geyam of Zagatala region and construction of two medical centers in villages of Barda region.
Minister of Health of Azerbaijan Ogtay Shiraliyev and Minister of Education Misir Mardanov noted, that three years - though also small term, however, for this time in our country have occurred greater changes in various spheres, including in public health services and education. It was noted, that grants are directed on development of the most important spheres to which the state gives great value - public health services and the education.
The grant contracts were signed from the Japanese party by the ambassador of Japan in Azerbaijan Tadahiro Абе, from Azerbaijan - representatives of the non-governmental organization «Lotus» Elena Taranova, the organizations «Saglam Dunya» Vasif Guliyev and Public Youth Association of Development Rafig Ismayilov.
