Japanese website highlights Zira Island project
Tokyo, February 15 (AZERTAC). The Japanese http://gendai.ismadia.jp website, which focuses on the global energy security, has posted an article “One of the greatest projects in Central Asia - Zira Island” by producer of the World Investors TV internet TV, famous economist Ishida Kazuyasu.
The author notes in his article that Azerbaijan has achieved great successes in its social and economic development, saying Azerbaijan`s economic potential will reach unbelievable highs by 2020. The article says Azerbaijan plays a key role in development of the transportation and energy corridors in the Eurasian region.
According to him, construction of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan main export oil pipeline connecting the Caspian and Mediterranean Seas made Azerbaijan’s economy make a U-turn.
The author shares his impressions about his visits to Baku. He notes that oil revenues are collected in a transparent manner in the State Oil Fund and managed effectively to ensure prosperous future of the country. According to the article, Azerbaijan located in the center of the East-West energy corridor plays the role of a bridge connecting Eurasia.
The author highlights Zira Island project as one of the most ambitious projects being implemented in Azerbaijan. The project envisages construction of residential areas, cultural centers and entertainment and resort facilities without using electricity from external sources. Zira Island is going to have a unique landscape architecture.
Kazuyasu claims that implementation of the project will transform Zira Island into one of the most beautiful tourism destinations. Zira Island project, which will incorporate the most sophisticated technologies of Azerbaijan`s construction traditions, will ensure the high-level lifestyle by minimally using external sources and reveal new possibilities to the world.
Kazuyasu says there is a great potential for using wind energy in the Absheron peninsula. “For this reason, environmentally harmful energy sources such as natural gas and traditional electricity will not be used there. Water will be utilized as a source of energy in the areas with poor wind energy potential.”
The article stresses the importance of the White City project in the national leader Heydar Aliyev`s national development strategy.
The author says Azerbaijan, which has changed its capital dramatically, provides a stimulus for the next generations.
