JUDICIAL-LEGAL COUNCIL HELD REGULAR MEETING
The meeting considered a number of organizational questions, in connection with expiry of the term of powers of the chairman of Judicial-Legal Council, conducted were elections of new chairman. Minister of Justice Fikrat Mammadov has been re-elected as Chairman of the Council.
At meeting, noted were purposeful measures on increase of efficiency of justice and improvement of judicial acitivity instructed by the President of Azerbaijan Republic. The information of Election Commission of judges on results of oral examinations of candidates in the judge.
It was informed, that of the 188 candidates, 102 persons who were successful by results of the open examinations, also watched by local and international organizations, have been admitted to the next stage of preliminary, long-term courses.
The observers who watched the course of examination have emphasized, that it has passed in the open and transparent form, and have been created necessary conditions for objective revealing knowledge of candidates.
At meeting of the Council, discussed was the program of training course which there will pass candidates for the judge, and also was noted, that it is prepared with participation of experts of the Council of Europe and other authoritative international organizations, and the special attention is paid to that candidates for the judge who have necessary knowledge and professional training. The program to continue during half a year, includes vital topics, including human rights, corruption, judicial ethics and other questions, stipulated lectures of judges of courts of the high instances, known scientists, possessing rich knowledge and experience, and also authoritative foreign experts.
At meeting, also was noted progressive essence of the conducted reforms in the country, the importance of judicial enlightenment in the field of human rights.
