KAJ to represent Sweden at 69th Eurovision Song Contest

6 weeks of 'Melodifestivalen' in Sweden has concluded with KAJ lifting the trophy and heading to Basel, the 69th Eurovision Song Contest, with their song 'Bara Bada Bastu.'
According to Eurovision.tv, the winner was decided by both a public vote and an international jury vote, with a 50% weighting given to each.
In the end, KAJ's public-vote triumph was enough to see the trio take the Melodifestivalen victory overall, with a points haul of 164. Eurovision Song Contest 2015 winner Måns Zelmerlöw finished in second place with Revolution on 157 points, while Greczula earned the bronze-medal finish with 103 points, for his song Believe Me.
Bara Bada Bastu was written by KAJ (Kevin Holmström, Jakob Norrgård and Axel Åhman), plus Robert Skowronski, Kristofer Strandberg and Anderz Wrethov.
Sweden will perform in the First Half of the First Semi-Final on Tuesday 13 May.
KAJ were formed in Vörå, Finland, in 2009 and have been making comedy and music together ever since.
The group is made up of Kevin Holmström, Axel Åhman and Jakob Norrgård. They have released 7 albums, written and performed two musicals at Wasa Teater and even got to put on a big arena show as a 10th anniversary.
Swedish Finland has been toured several times and the Ostrobothnian humor gospel has spread to all corners of the land. Now it is Europe's turn to experience the comedy group KAJ.
Sweden made its Eurovision Song Contest debut in 1958, and is widely regarded to have produced one of the most successful winners of all time: ABBA with their entry Waterloo in 1974.
Sverige has won the Contest 7 times and is tied with Ireland for the most number of victories.
The most recent Swedish success was in Liverpool 2023, when Loreen took the trophy thanks to a mesmerising performance of her song Tattoo. She became the first woman to win the competition twice, having previously triumphed in Baku 2012 with Euphoria.
Swedish broadcasters have run the show on all 7 occasions following a victory, with the cities of Stockholm (1975, 2000 and 2016), Gothenburg (1985) and Malmö (1992, 2013 and 2024) all hosting memorable Contests.
