‘LITHUANIA SUPPORTS PEACEFUL SOLUTION OF NAGORNO-KARABAKH CONFLICT’

Lithuania supports peaceful solution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, visiting Azerbaijan Chairman of the Lithuanian Seimas Committee on Foreign Affairs Justinas Karosas stated on Tuesday.

He stressed the conflict must be solved in accordance with international legal norms which he said are based on the principles of territorial integrity of states.

Karosas said his country is a member of the European Union and is ready to help Azerbaijan with solution of the dispute.

Commenting on goals of his visit, Karosas noted he is in Azerbaijan to discuss ways of developing interparliamentary relations between the two countries.

“Relations between our countries are on high level. However, we also need to improve ties between our legislative bodies”.

Karosas said that while in Baku he would also discuss process of Azerbaijan`s integration into Europe and exchange views on how Azerbaijan can help Lithuania in building relations with countries in the South Caucasus.
