MEMBERS OF EGYPTIAN-AZERI INTERPARLIAMENTARY FRIENDSHIP GROUP MEET DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER
Visiting Azerbaijan, members of Egyptian-Azeri Inter-parliamentary friendship group met Friday Ali Hasanov, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of State Committee for Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).
A. Hasanov said Egypt is one of the first countries recognizing Azerbaijan’s independence.
Deputy Prime Minister added that high level of relations between Azerbaijan and Egypt are based on religious and cultural roots. A. Hasanov said President Ilham Aliyev`s May visit has positively impacted on expansion of ties and development of economic cooperation between the two countries.
He briefed the visitors on true reasons and history of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as the government’s measures aimed to improve social condition of refugees and IDPs, who have become homeless as a result of Armenian aggression.
A Hasanov stressed that Egypt, which is a fraternal country for Azerbaijan, always supports Azerbaijan’s fair stance in all international events.
Ahmad Omar Hashim, chairman of Egyptian-Azeri Inter-parliamentary friendship group said his country always supports justice and Azerbaijan’s just stance will win sooner and later.
Egypt supports and will support Azerbaijan’s position on Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. We wish Azerbaijan’s occupied lands to be set free, and all of us to visit this region, Hashim said.
After the meeting the visitors became familiar with the living condition of a group of IDPs resettled in Narimanov district of Baku.
