MFA PRESENTS BOOK ON DESTRUCTION OF CULTURAL MONUMENTS IN OCCUPIED TERRITORIES
On October 7, Kamala Imranli, first secretary for foreign policy planning of the Azerbaijan’s Ministry for Foreign Affairs, held a press conference at the Ministry to present the book “War against Azerbaijan: Targeting cultural heritage” published in English by the Ministry and Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
K. Imranli, author of the book, provided information about the book dedicated to destruction of Azerbaijan’s cultural monuments in Nagorno-Karabakh and seven surrounding regions occupied by Armenia.
She said Azerbaijan repeatedly appealed the international organizations, including the Council of Europe, to inform on destruction of its cultural monuments in the occupied territories. In this respect, Secretary General of the Council of Europe Terry Davis came forward with an initiative to send a fact-finding mission to the region.
The book, which contains a compact disc with a documentary film about condition of the monuments following the occupation, consists of the introduction, several sections devoted to the monuments of the Caucasian Albania and all occupied districts.
She noted that the book would be distributed abroad to draw the world community’s attention to condition of the Azerbaijan’s cultural monuments in the occupied territories.
