Mongolia, Croatia seek to strengthen Parliamentary cooperation

A delegation of members of the State Great Khural (Parliament) of Mongolia, led by Aldarjavkhlan Jukov, Member of Parliament and Chair of the Mongolia–Croatia Parliamentary Friendship Group, paid a working visit to the Republic of Croatia from January 26 to 29 at the invitation of Predrag Štromar, Member of the Croatian Parliament and Chair of the Croatia–Mongolia Parliamentary Friendship Group, according to MONTSAME.
At the outset of the meeting, Aldarjavkhlan expressed appreciation for the warm welcome, noting with satisfaction that friendly relations between the two countries have developed steadily over the past more than 30 years, laying a solid foundation for expanding cooperation across many social and economic sectors. He also emphasized Mongolia’s commitment to strengthening cooperation between the two legislatures, regularizing mutual visits between parliamentary friendship groups, and actively promoting exchanges of experience.
For his part, Štromar said that he does not see the geographical distance as an obstacle but as an opportunity to strengthen ties. He described Mongolia as an important partner in Asia and reaffirmed Croatia’s intention to further deepen bilateral relations and cooperation.
During the visit, members of the Mongolia–Croatia Parliamentary Friendship Group also paid a courtesy call on Željko Reiner, Deputy Speaker of the Croatian Parliament. MP Aldarjavkhlan recalled that in 2025, a delegation led by P. Štromar, along with Croatia’s Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman, paid an official visit to Mongolia. He noted that inter-ministerial consultations were held between the two countries’ foreign ministries during that visit, marking important developments in bilateral relations and contributing to the strengthening of political trust.
Deputy Speaker Željko Reiner welcomed the growing cooperation and mutual trust between the two legislatures and expressed Croatia’s readiness to further enhance exchanges and cooperation at all levels.
In addition, as part of the visit, Mongolian MPs met with Croatia’s Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić, Vice President of the Croatian Chamber of Economy Igor Pokaz, and the Mayor of Zadar, exchanging views on bilateral cooperation.
This marked the first-ever group visit by members of the Mongolian Parliament to the Croatian Parliament since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1993.
