Mongolia, South Korea to establish defense cooperation agreement

At its regular session on June 24, the Cabinet discussed and approved the draft Agreement on Defense Cooperation between the Government of Mongolia and the Government of the Republic of Korea and decided to submit it for consultation with the relevant Standing Committees of the State Great Khural (Parliament), according to Montsame.

The conclusion of this agreement is highly significant for expanding bilateral defense cooperation through high-level and working-level exchanges, consultative meetings, military education and training programs, enhanced cooperation between training and research institutions, and the organization of joint military exercises and training activities.

Defense relations and cooperation between Mongolia and the Republic of Korea began in 1999 with the signing of the Agreement on Cooperation in the Military Field between the Ministry of Defense of Mongolia and the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of Korea.
