“NAGORNO KARABAKH IS OCCUPIED TERRITORY OF AZERBAIJAN”, DM OF ESTONIA
The Minister of Defense of Estonia, Mr. Jaak Aaviksoo, in his interview to the Estonian radio, commenting his meeting with the Azeri DM Safar Abiyev said: “There are many disputed regions in the South Caucasus. Azerbaijan’s occupied territory Nagorno Karabakh is one of them. There are problems and we are trying to assist their solution. Unfortunately, tension increases in this region. I understand the people ousted from their homelands. In Azerbaijan, they number over one million.”
Mr. Jaak Aaviksoo stated that Estonia would not render financial assistance to Azerbaijan as the countries are far away, but political cooperation and consultations are not ruled out. Integration to the European Union and Trans-Atlantic structures is the future of Azerbaijan and we stand ready to help in this direction. The Minister said Azerbaijan’s problems are very hard and complex.
