NATO SECRETARY GENERAL’S SPECIAL ENVOY TO VISIT AZERBAIJAN
Robert Simmons, the NATO Secretary General’s Special Envoy will visit Azerbaijan, Mr. Araz Azimov, Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan told a news briefing on 19 September.
Noting the latest significant events taken place in socio-political life of Azerbaijan, the Deputy Foreign Minister informed on visit of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs, 18 September, to Baku, their meeting with President of Azerbaijan. As is informed, the same day, Russia and USA experts with participation of Azerbaijan representatives have visited Gabala RLS.
Speaking of settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict, Mr. Azimov, to this end, said the current position of the world community develops in support of Azerbaijan. The world knows that Armenia’s approach to the question is not adequate to the international legal norms and principles and fully contradicts the world practice.
Araz Azimov updated on the work being done in the Ministry related to meeting of the GUAM National Coordinators Council due 20 September.
The Deputy Foreign Minister also informed on the draft program to cover the next period of the military plan of partnership between Azerbaijan and NATO. In this regard, he said that Robert Simmons, the NATO Secretary General’s Special Representative to South Caucasus and Central Asia would visit the Republic to discuss the Azerbaijan-NATO relations.
