Odessa to host meeting of CIS Council of Border Troops’ Commanders
Minsk, May 14 (AZERTAC). The 69th meeting of the Council of Border Troops Commanders (CBTC) of the CIS countries will be held in Odessa, Ukraine on May 19.
The draft agenda for the event includes more than 10 questions. In particular, members of the Council are to discuss the situation at the external borders and issues of cooperation between border agencies of CIS member states, to sum up the third regional meeting of heads of border departments of the Commonwealth countries in the Central Asian region, to review the preparation and conduct joint special border operations and operational preventive measures in 2013 and 2014, to share the experience of border security in the organization of major international sporting and cultural events.
The heads of border agencies also plan to discuss the issues relating to the strengthening of border security at the external borders of the CIS, the preparation and celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, joint research projects, organizing a coordinated operational support of international rail train route on the territory of CIS countries.
