PACE MEMBER COUNTRIES’ PARLIAMENT CHAIRMEN TO GATHER IN STRASBOURG
Regular conference of the Chairmen of the National Parliaments of member countries of the Council of Europe will be convened on May 22-23 current year in Strasbourg. As is reported, along with the Parliament Chairmen, also the heads of parliaments of the countries with observer status, as well as Presidents of the European Parliament and the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly will take part at the Conference.
The Conference is biannual and organized by PACE, and will focus on the ways to involve the peoples to actively take part in public life of civil society, also discuss questions as democracy building, protection of human rights and supremacy of law.
Speaker of Azerbaijan Parliament Ogtay Asadov is expected to attend the Conference.
