Pakistan and Belgium hold 4th round of Bilateral Political Consultations

Pakistan and Belgium held the 4th session of Bilateral Political Consultations in Islamabad on Thursday. Both sides welcomed the positive momentum in bilateral relations and reaffirmed their commitment to further expand cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, education, health sciences, and people-to-people exchanges.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting also included a detailed exchange of views on regional and global issues of mutual concern. Both sides agreed to maintain close contacts and to hold the next session of consultations in Brussels in 2027.
The Pakistani delegation was led by Additional Secretary Europe Ayesha Ali, while the Belgian delegation was headed by Director General Birgit Stevens. Additional Secretary Ayesha Ali expressed gratitude to the Belgian side for its continued support for Pakistan’s GSP Plus status.
Belgium is a key European importer of Pakistani goods, with growing trade, including Pakistani pharmaceuticals entering the EU market. Relations between Belgium and Pakistan have strengthened over time, marked by regular high-level consultations.
