Pakistan National Library holds seminar on national leader Heydar Aliyev
Baku, May 8 (AZERTAC). The National Library of Pakistan has hosted a seminar entitled “Heydar Aliyev - the national leader of Azerbaijan and Azerbaijan-Pakistan relations” and opened the Heydar Aliyev room.
The ceremonies was held as part of a chain of events dedicated to national leader Heydar Aliyev`s 90th anniversary in Pakistan.
According to the Azerbaijani Embassy in Islamabad, the event brought together director of the National Library of Pakistan, rectors of the Universities of Quaid-i-Azam, Modern Languages, Punjab and Preston, scientists, representatives of diplomatic corps and journalists.
Director General Ch. Muhammad Nazir praised national leader Heydar Aliyev`s role in establishing the relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan.
Azerbaijani ambassador Dashgin Shikarov provided an insight into life and activities of national leader Heydar Aliyev.
Director of the school of politics and international relations at the Quaid-i-Azam University, professor Lubna Abid Ali hailed national leader Heydar Aliyev`s contributions to developing the Azerbaijan-Pakistan relationship.
Editor-in-chief of the Pakistan-based “The Diplomatic Insight” magazine Asif Noor spoke of national leader Heydar Aliyev`s role in ensuring development of Azerbaijan, particularly the country`s oil strategy, science and education.
“Thanks to Heydar Aliyev, the Azerbaijani language was given a state language status,“ he added.
