PRESIDENT ILHAM ALIYEV RECEIVES ITF AND RTF PRESIDENTS
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on March 11 received Francesco Ricci Bitti, President of the International Tennis Federation (ITF), and Shamil Tarpischev, President of the Russian Tennis Federation.
Ilham Aliyev spoke of intensive development of sports in the country and state care and attention rendered to it, stressing that modern sport infrastructure meeting international standards were created in the regions of the country as well. President Aliyev expressed his confidence that in Azerbaijan, modern infrastructure would be created for the development of tennis, too.
President of the International Tennis Federation said that tennis has great tradition in Azerbaijan and mentioned Azerbaijani tennis players as Ahmarov, Likhachov, Biryukova.
He said there were necessary conditions and ground for the development of tennis, and great attention to the sport would also have positive influence on tennis in Azerbaijan.
