PRESIDENT ILHAM ALIYEV VISITS ABSHERON DISTRICT
Thousands of people gathered in the park warmly greeted the Head of State.
The President unveiled the 6-meter height monument, and laid a bouquet of flowers at it.
He toured the park and praised it as a place for people’s rest.
In the Heydar Park, the President also attended the ceremony of opening a museum named after the great leader Heydar Aliyev. He cut the ribbon symbolizing official opening of the museum. Its Director let the President know that the museum consists of ten sections containing photos and other items reflecting life and activities of the National Leader, including his visits to Absheron district in different years.
The President toured the museum and signed its guest book.
On behalf of the local community, the Head of State was presented with a carpet with his portrait on it.
After that, the President addressed the Absheron public gathered in the Park.

President Ilham Aliyev was acquainted with Absheron Regional Museum, where he was informed by its Director that it has been functioning since early 1980s, and keeps thousands of displays, many of which are very rare and related to ancient history and culture of the region. The Head of State wondered about biography of the renowned persons lived in the district, and viewed the ancient and medieval household goods, instruments of labor and combat armor.

The President took part in the ceremony of laying foundation stone for a 1296-seat middle school in Khyrdalan. He was informed that construction of the school’s building had been ordered by the Azerbaijan Ministry of Education. Construction activities will be carried out by the company Ulubay-Inshaat Ltd. on the base of the project developed by the Institute “Azkommunallayihe”. The school to be open next September will contain over 70 classrooms, a computer room, a gym, volleyball ground, and a conference hall. The building will be provided with an individual heating system.
The President placed the time capsule into the foundation and covered it with liquid concrete symbolizing the beginning of the construction activities.

President Ilham Aliyev in Absheron familiarized himself with the Azerbaijan-Turkey joint venture “Tam”, a confectionary manufacturer. The plant now employing 500 men is expected to do 1000 with expanding production capacity, according to its Director Huseyn Aliyev. The high quality products of the company are exported to Georgia and Ventral Asian countries, he said. The plant, he added, is equipped with Russian, Italian, Turkish and German machines.
The President was acquainted with the production process, and stressed the necessity of creating such effective enterprises noting what is done according to the State Program of Development of Regions is a special help in unemployment reduction. “That is why founding businesses like this will be further backed by the government,” President Ilham Aliyev said.
