PRESIDENT OF GEORGIA HURRIES TO APPROVE NEW GOVERNMENT
President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili claims to take urgent measures for formation of the new government, AzerTAj correspondent reports from Tbilisi. On February 9, President has to submit the full staff of the new government for Parliament’s consideration. New Ministers are to be elected from the blocs “Nationalist movement” and “United democrats”.
According to the preliminary information, Nino Burjanadze was nominated to the post of Minister of Foreign Affairs. According to the head of state, division of powers between the President, Parliament and Prime Minister is the hardest issue for today.
M. Saakashvili and Minister of State Z. Jvaniya want to take more powers for full control over the government and parliament. The case in point is even making alterations in the Constitution on entitling President or Prime Minister to dissolve the Parliament in exceptional cases.
