PRESIDENT OF IRAN MEETS PREMIER OF AZERBAIJAN
President Mahmoud Ahmedinejad of Iran today met with Artur Rasizade, Azerbaijani Prime Minister. The sides discussed relations and economic cooperation between Iran and Azerbaijan, noting that the signed documents would give further impetus to development of cooperation in the coming years.
Development of bilateral relations serves the interests of both countries, the Premier of Azerbaijan said.
Status of Caspian Sea, current relations and future trends between the two countries, problem on status concerning Caspian Sea, simplification of visa regime between Iran and Azerbaijan and other issues were subject of the meeting.
As stated, as a result of talks the Azerbaijani and Iranian presidents signed joint declaration. Besides, the parties signed memorandums on opening of Baku-Nakhchivan-Baku route between the two countries, construction of Julfa-Azerbaijan, Julfa-Iran Bridge, Ordubad-Merazad hydroelectric power station.
