PRESIDENTS OF AZERBAIJAN AND TAJIKISTAN HOLD A JOINT PRESS CONFERENCE
Today, after the ceremony of signing documents, Presidents of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon held a joint press conference in Baku.
First, the heads of states made statements.
In his statement, President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan said they had a comprehensive exchange of views of mutual interests.
“We have discussed issues on regional cooperation, regional security, naturally, bilateral relations, problem of Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. I must say with pleasure that our views and approaches related to the discussed issues coincide”, President Ilham Aliyev said.
The head of state also said that they have discussed several concrete projects, which will further develop the bilateral economic ties between the two countries.
“I hope that we will soon see the practical results of the questions we have discussed”, the Azerbaijani President stressed.
Ilham Aliyev expressed his satisfaction with the visit of President Emomali Rahmon of Tajikistan to his country.
In his statement, President Emomali Rahmon said the two presidents had today constructive and interesting exchange of views on bilateral, regional, as well as international questions within the state visit by the delegation of the Tajikistan Republic. He pointed out that they have continued the political dialogue directed on further expansion of the existence cooperation between the two countries.
“I am sure that even greater achievements in our political relations lie ahead. We have today agreed that we will not only meet in official condition but also, if necessary, in unofficial conditions”, the head of state said.
The President of Tajikistan went on to say that the two presidents have also discussed the questions related to challenges and prospects of cooperation within the international and regional organizations, including the United Nations, Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, Commonwealth of Independent States and etc.
Later on, the presidents responded to the journalists’ questions.
