Representatives of Egyptian leading mass media informed on Azerbaijan
Cairo, May 19 (AZERTAC). Press secretary of Azerbaijan`s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Elman Abdullayev has met representatives of several leading mass media, including Middle East Newsg Agency, “Al-Ahram”, “Youm7”, “Dustur”, “Tahrir” newspapers and “Al-Ahram Al-Arabi” magazine and held briefing. Abdullayev spoke of the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict, saying as a result of its non-constructive policy official Yeevan isolated itself from the region. He said the international community should increase efforts to settle the conflict. The press secretary also spoke of Azerbaijan`s political and economic achievements, stressing that his country is an initiator of important cooperation mechanisms in the region and beyond it.
Abdullayev also touched upon Azerbaian`s relations with Islamic world, saying official Baku demonstrates resolute position on the Palestinian problem. He recalled that the Organization of Islamic Cooperation would hold in Baku an international donor conference next month.
Abdullayev also answered questions on Azerbaijan-Egypt relations, the country`s position on the ongoing developments in the region and Egypt.
