Roma Tre University hosts conference on “Security and strategy: Caspian crossing”
Baku, May 17 (AZERTAC). The Roma Tre University with support of Azerbaijan`s Embassy has hosted a conference on “The security and strategy: Caspian crossing”.
Vice-president of the University Vinchenzo Mannino said multifaceted cooperation exists between Azerbaijan and Italy. He noted such conferences create opportunities to learn more about the ongoing processes in the Caspian basin.
Head of the University`s faculty of political sciences Francesco Guida spoke of Caspian littoral states` foreign policy.
Azerbaijan`s ambassador to Italy Vagif Sadigov briefed the participants on the role of his country in political and economic processes in the region.
Professor of the U.S. University of Yale Colion Hovart told on the security policy of the official Washington in Eurasia, Caspian and South Caucasus regions.
The conference was also attended by associate professor of Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy, Elnur Soltanov, senior expert of Italy`s ENI energy company, Maria Sancermano, representatives of the Spanish Institute for International Political Studies, Matteo Verda and Italian Institute of International Affairs, Nona Mikelidze. They spoke about Azerbaijan`s foreign, security and economic policies, history of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, energy policy of Caspian littoral states and major projects.
