Romania hosts conference on 90th anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev
Baku, May 8 (AZERTAC). A scientific conference called “Heydar Aliyev and independent Azerbaijan” marking the 90th anniversary of Azerbaijan`s national leader has been arranged in the parliament of Romania in Bucharest.
The event, co-organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the Heydar Aliyev Center and the Azerbaijani Embassy, brought together political, public and cultural figures, senators, parliamentarians, Azerbaijani students and members of Turkish-Tatar community.
Director of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation's Office in Romania Igbal Hajiyev provided an insight into the national leader’s life and political activities. He also highlighted humanitarian and cultural projects realized by the Foundation's Office in Romania.
Ambassador Eldar Hasanov hailed national leader Heydar Aliyev`s role in protecting and strengthening Azerbaijan’s independence, and ensuring the country`s Euroatlantic integration.
Official at the Heydar Aliyev Center Vugar Mammadov and Romania`s first ambassador to Azerbaijan, currently director of the Institute of Turkology and Central-Asian Studies of Babes-Bolyai University Tasin Cemil made remarks at the event.
The event featured demonstration of a documentary on national leader Heydar Aliyev`s life and activity, and the participants also viewed “Heydar Aliyev-90 - 90 moments of life” photo exhibition.
The event has been in the Romanian spotlight.
