RUSSIA, GEORGIA: POLITICAL SCANDAL
A new scandal has burst between the Russian Federation and Georgia. The reason of scandal began form the refusal of the Russian side to give out the visa to one of members of parliamentary delegation of Georgia - to chairman of Committee of Defense and Safety Givi Targamadze for participation in summit of the chairmen of parliaments of the CIS member countries forthcoming in Saint Petersburg. Having stated, that in connection with event, Georgia will not take part in the forum, chairperson of parliament Nino Burjanadze has told: “Whereas the Georgian politicians are in “the black list” of Russia, we also should take adequate measures. Our list will include names of many Russians to which entry visas to Georgia will not be given. It is expected, that while names of Mitrofanov, Alksnis, Baburin and Zhirinovsky.
G. Targamadze connects the decision adopted by the neighboring state with the statements made by him recently concerning Russia. He has told: “I carry responsibility for each word I told about Russia. At any time, I am ready to repeat each of my statements. I believe that any of them is not the insult to address of the government of Russia. And this step of Russia, I think is the insult in my address”.
