RUSSIA TO ACCEPT ABOUT 330 THOUSAND LABOR MIGRANTS IN 2006

Government of Russia has allowed entrance for work in Russia to 329 thousand foreign citizens in 2006, press service of the Government of the Russian Federation said. Thus, it was approved the quotas on delivery to foreign citizens of invitations for entrance to the Russian Federation with a view of realization of labor activity. According to the document, the volume of quotas for the next year will make 329300 invitations.

It has to be noted that such measure is undertaken by the Russian government with a view of regulating labor migration in the country and so that labor activity of foreign citizens in territory of Russia was carried out according to the federal legislation.

The question of regulating of labor and illegal migration is in the center of attention of the Russian authorities, and currently is under preparation a number of changes in the migratory legislation of Russia. As the head of department of external labor migration of Federal Migratory Service of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Postavnin has earlier declared, the next year, the government will supposedly pardon about 1 million citizens of the CIS illegally working in territory of Russia. As he said, the corresponding draft on such amnesty is being prepared. Recently, it will be brought in the State Duma of the Russian Federation.
