Russian FM meets NATO secretary-general in Brussels

Baku, February 19 (AZERTAC). Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov held a meeting with the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Catherine Ashton, in Brussels on Tuesday.

The meeting focused on visa problems, energy-related issues, interaction in the WTO framework, as well as the entire range of bilateral relations.

Lavrov also exchanged views with Ashton on some of the more topical international problems, specifically the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Iranian nuclear problem, a Middle East settlement and the situations in Syria and Mali.

The meeting was held as part of preparations for a joint meeting of the Russian Government and the European Commission in Moscow in March.
