Russian plane carrying humanitarian aid to Iran lands at Lankaran airport

Russia has sent humanitarian aid to Iran.
According to AZERTAC's regional correspondent, the Il-76 plane of the Russian Emergencies Ministry carrying humanitarian aid has landed at Lankaran International Airport.
The humanitarian includes 13 tons of medicines and medical supplies. Trucks loaded with humanitarian aid are being dispatched to the Astara state border checkpoint for onward delivery to Iran.
On March 11, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin made a phone call to President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. Vladimir Putin expressed gratitude to the Azerbaijani President for the prompt assistance provided in the evacuation of Russian citizens from the Islamic Republic of Iran, as well as for the conditions created for the transit of humanitarian aid sent by his country through Azerbaijani territory to Iran.
