SAUDI EMBASSY IN BAKU CELEBRATES EID AL-ADHA
The Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Azerbaijan held a celebration Thursday at the Baku Entertainment Center to mark Eid Al-Adha.
Addressing the event, Saudi Ambassador Ali Hassan Jafar extended his greetings to the people of Azerbaijan on the occasion of the sacred holiday.
He said Saudi Arabia places particular emphasis on the development of ties with its fraternal and friendly countries including Azerbaijan.
The Saudi envoy said relations between Saudi Arabia and Azerbaijan are developing in all areas, and the two countries are also successfully cooperating within international organizations.
Fattah Heydarov, head of the Azerbaijan-Saudi Arabia parliamentary friendship group at the Milli Majlis, stressed the role of the two countries` leaders in strengthening bilateral relations.
He said President Ilham Aliyev attaches great importance to development of relationships with Saudi Arabia.
The Azeri parliamentarian expressed his gratitude to the Saudi government for rendering humanitarian assistance to Azerbaijani refugees and internally displaced people, as well as for supporting Azerbaijan`s just stance on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict with Armenia.
A group of Azerbaijani MPs and ministers as well as foreign ambassadors and representatives of international organizations accredited in Azerbaijan were present at the event.
