Scottish music day in Icherishekher

Baku, November 22 (AZERTAC). The day of Scottish music on the eve of St. Andrew`s Day was organized Saturday by the Caledonian society in Icherishekher (Baku`s Inner City).

The procession ranging from traditional Scottish music and fireworks to dancing kicked off close to the Gosha Gala gateway and wrapped up near the Maiden Tower.

St. Andrew`s Day is a special day for Scottish people. Although St. Andrew happens to be the patron saint of many other countries, St. Andrew`s Day is a national bank holiday in Scotland. Scottish residents and ex-patriots throughout the world celebrate this day through dinners, balls, ceilidhs and banquets with family dinners, drinking and all things Scottish.

The Day is marked in Azerbaijan annually during 13 years and contributes to the cultural dialogue between two countries.
