Slovenia celebrates Republic Day of Azerbaijan
Vienna, May 24 (AZERTAC). Slovenia hosted a number of celebrative events on the occasion of the May 28 - the Republic Day of Azerbaijan, according to the embassy of Azerbaijan in Austria and Slovenia.
An official reception was organized at the Mons hotel in Ljubljana on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of Azerbaijan`s independence. The event brought together Slovenian state and government officials, representatives of diplomatic corps and businessmen.
The ambassador highlighted the history of Azerbaijan`s independence and ongoing processes after the restoration of the independence.
The attendees also saw a concert performed by the ensemble of the Baku Choreographic School “Baku stars” and opera singer Elchin Huseynov, who is studying in Milan, Italy.
The event also featured a exhibition of photos taken by photographers of the Azerbaijan State Telegraph Agency on the country`s sightseeing.
Slovenian Nova Gorica hosted an event on the occasion of the Republic Day bringing together representatives of the Azerbaijani embassy, mayor of the Nova Gorica Matej Arcon and members of the Azerbaijan-Slovenia Friendship Society.
The event featured a concert program of Azerbaijani dancers and classic singers, and a photo exhibition on Azerbaijan.
In Nova Gorica, an Azerbaijani delegation visited a monument to Azerbaijani brave son, Hero of the Soviet Union Mehdi Huseynzade, as well as his grave in the Vitovlje village.
