SOCAR PRESIDENT MEETS GERMAN RWE COMPANY`S DELEGATION
Baku, 21 November (AZERTAC). President of SOCAR Rovnag Abdullayev met Friday with a delegation of German energy company RWE.
Abdullayev briefed the delegation members on the ongoing regional and global energy projects initiated by Azerbaijan. He noted SOCAR carried out large scale investment programs both in Azerbaijan and abroad.
He also stressed there are great opportunities for cooperation between SOCAR and RWE.
Leo Birnbaum, Member of the RWE AG`s Executive Board, responsible for Group Strategy and Business Development said the company he represents had achieved “serious successes” in Eastern Europe.
According to him, RWE wants to strengthen its positions in Europe even more, and is keen on participating in the ongoing projects in the Caspian region, Turkey and CIS territory.
He underlined RWE has cutting-edge technology in oil and gas production and exploitation.
Birnbaum also said they would be happy to cooperate with SOCAR.
The sides also discussed issues relating to Nabucco project.
